Are No Professional Home Inspector Licensing or Registration
Requirements In Florida? |
A twenty five dollar city or county
business license is all that is required. As such, you can be sure that the lowest
priced inspector in town is probably someone new, just trying out the
business or an unqualified individual looking to make a quick buck off
anxious home buyers.
So when you see home
inspectors claiming that they are "certified" or "licensed and insured",
be aware that unless they are a State licensed building contractor or
certified building code inspector, you should consider looking
elsewhere. Some so-called
professional home inspector associations, "certify" inspectors upon
payment of their membership dues with no training, testing or continuing
education requirements.

Pricing
Guide |
A home inspection is a very worthwhile expense when you are
purchasing your next home, especially when you employ a quality company
that will provide a thorough inspection on your behalf.
Our pricing begins with a small condo, duplex or town home
for around $225.00. A typical 1300 to 2000 square foot single family home
begins at $275.00.
We
perform single item inspections like a roof only or electric only
inspection for $100.00. Some banks and insurance companies request
this type of inspection before loaning money or issuing coverage.
As you would expect, swimming pools, spas, seawalls and docks
require an additional charge. Square footage is a good indicator as to the
other items within a home, so this will be a question for you when we
quote your fee. We are also
available for re-inspections after repairs if desired.
We don't use the common "bait and switch" method
of pricing your inspections. Contact us for a firm quote that we guarantee
will not change. That's our policy.
For
your convenience, we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
If you want
to pay by credit card, please let us know in advance so we can
send you an invoice by email. Otherwise, payment is due at the
completion of the inspection.
